Getting Ready for Your Boudoir Session
1–2 Weeks Before: Set the Foundation
Clarify the vibe • Decide how you want it to feel: soft & romantic, bold & sexy, playful, moody, elegant, etc. • Share inspiration with your photographer (Pinterest boards are perfect).
Choose outfits (2–4 looks is ideal) • Lingerie you feel confident in, what’s “trendy.” • Mix textures: lace, silk, cotton, leather, oversized shirts, sweaters. • Bring options: bodysuits, matching sets, corsets, robes, heels, thigh-highs. • Avoid tight elastic right before the shoot (can leave marks).
Book beauty services (optional) • Hair, makeup, nails, waxing—book now if you want them. • Neutral nails are safest unless bold is your thing.
Skin care • Start moisturizing daily (especially legs, elbows, hands). • Gentle exfoliation 2–3x/week. • Drink water like it’s your job
3–5 Days Before: Polish, Don’t Panic
Grooming • Shave/wax according to your preference (don’t try something new last minute). • Tidy brows, facial hair, or any areas that help you feel put together.
Break in outfits • Try everything on. Move, sit, stretch. • Make sure nothing pinches, gaps, or rides up weirdly.
Sleep • Seriously underrated. Rest shows on your face and posture.
The Day Before: Calm + Confidence
Pack a shoot bag • All outfits + backups • Nude/strapless bra, seamless thong • Heels/shoes • Jewelry • Lip balm & lipstick for touch-ups • Body lotion or oil (ask photographer if they prefer you apply on-site)
Prep your body • Light exfoliation + moisturizer. • Skip heavy workouts that leave soreness or marks.
Mindset check • Nerves are normal. You do not need to look like anyone else. • The goal isn’t perfection—it’s presence.

Day Of: Show Up as You
Wear loose clothing • Oversized tee, sweatpants, slip-on shoes—no tight socks or bras.
Eat something light • You want energy, not hunger shakes.
Trust the process • Your photographer will guide posing, hands, expressions, angles. • Boudoir is collaborative—you’re not expected to “perform.”
Breathe + move • Slow movements look more natural. • If something feels awkward, say it.
After the Shoot (Bonus Tip)
Don’t immediately pick yourself apart. That post-shoot vulnerability is real.
When you see the images later, you’ll notice strength, softness, and confidence you didn’t feel in the moment.
